India’s most wanted terrorist and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim Kasker and his wife are said to have tested positive for COVID-19, according to media reports quoting top Pakistani government sources. The reports said that the don’s staff and guards have also been quarantined.
Dawood, born in Khed, Ratnagiri – a city in Maharashtra, is the mastermind and key accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, and at the moment, is believed to be residing in Karachi, Pakistan. International Criminal Police Organisation, commonly known as Interpol, has also kept Dawood on its radar.
Dawood’s brother, Anees Ibrahim, who manages the operations of D-Company, reportedly spoke to news agency IANS from an anonymous location and had condemned the fact that Dawood and his wife have contracted the novel coronavirus. “Bhai (Dawood) is fine and Shakeel is also fine. No one has tested positive for coronavirus. No one from our family is admitted in hospital,” said Anees.
According to intelligence agencies reports, Dawood and his wife both are admitted and receiving treatment in Army Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. Dawood is a wanted global terrorist in the United States and India since 2003.
