Kangana Ranaut has been under the spotlight for the last couple of months because of her bold statements about the Bollywood mafia and the death of the acclaimed actor Sushant Singh Rajput. If you follow the fierce actress, you must’ve heard of the online spat that took place between the Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and Kangana Ranaut. This happened after Kangana Ranaut compared Mumbai to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). After her statement, Sanjay Raut wrote in the Sena mouthpiece Saamna that the actress shouldn’t return to Mumbai if she wants to criticize the Mumbai Police. Immediately after this accusation, Ranaut claimed that she will return to Mumbai on 9 September.
Currently residing at her home in Himachal Pradesh, the actress asked the state government for security as she felt her life was threatened due to her statements about the Bollywood drug mafia. Following her request, the state government asked the centre to interfere and consider providing the actress personal protection outside of the state. The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur issued a statement saying, “I welcome this decision and also express my gratitude to the Union Home Minister. Her security is important to us.
Immediately after this move by the centre, Maharashtra Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh criticized this move by saying, “The centre’s move to provide security to people who insult Mumbai and Maharashtra is surprising and also sad. This state belongs to all people, including BJP. Kangana Ranaut’s comments should be condemned by all.” In response to the statement issued by Anil Deshmukh, senior BJP leader, Devendra Fadnavis said, “It is the responsibility of the government to protect the life of an individual. Hence, though we are not supporting what Kangana Ranaut said, and nobody will support it, still it is the responsibility of the government to protect her.”
After the entire debate, the centre has finally agreed to provide Y-plus category security cover of armed central paramilitary personnel to Kangana Ranaut. Following this, Kangana Ranaut has claimed the title of being the first Bollywood Star in history to be guarded by the elite CRPF commandos.
