The year 2020 has not been a prosperous year till date because it has triggered multiple sad events. Every day we hear news that is very disturbing as well as depressing. Either someone has passed away of coronavirus infection or an untimely death. This year, the Indian film industry has witnessed a lot of demises and today it has lost another actor and television star.
Bollywood and TV actor Sushant Singh Rajput has reportedly committed suicide at his Bandra home in Mumbai. During the nationwide lockdown, the 34-year-old actor was living alone at his residence and committed suicide as acknowledged this morning. Initial reports from the police suggest that he wasn’t feeling well for a few days and was suffering from depression for the past six months.
When his body was discovered, some of his friends were also at his home. The young actor had hosted a gathering at his apartment on Saturday night. Even after calling Sushant multiple times, when he didn’t respond, his friends buzzed into his room only to find the actor hanging from the ceiling fan.
Just five days back, his former manager Disha Salian was also found dead in Mumbai. It is still a mystery why the Bollywood actor took this extreme step. A team of policemen from Bandra Police station reached his apartment as soon as the information came in. The reason behind his suicide has not been revealed yet.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden death came as a shock to cinema lovers, film actors, and people from all walks of life as it is the fourth death in the Hindi film industry in the past two months.
Last seen in Chhichhore, Rajput was one of the bright stars of the younger generation. He debuted in the Bollywood industry with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che, based on the book by Chetan Bhagat. Sushant acted in several films like – PK, Kai Po Che, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (based on former India cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s biography), Shuddh Desi Romance, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, Raabta, Dil Bechara, Kedarnath and among others.
Mumbai Police is investigating the death of the young actor as a case of suicide.
