The world is trapped under the tentacles of the deadly coronavirus for over 6 months now. There are still no signs of relief from this pandemic that has unleashed throughout the globe. It has already made more than 700,000 people its prey. However, more than 12.6 million people have recovered from it. In these times, people are still looking for ways to protect themselves from the coronavirus. The use of face masks and sanitizers and frequent hand washing has reduced the chances of contracting the disease. Researchers and scientists have been coming up with new and innovative ways to curb the spread. One such discovery is ‘Atulya’.
Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises has come up with an innovative microwave device that can disinfect the premises within a span of just 30 seconds. The device is called ‘Atulya’ and it has the capacity to disintegrate COVID-19 from the surroundings with the help of differential heating. Atulya has been creating a buzz all around as it is a device that is manufactured 100 percent indigenously.
The device has been constructed under the supervision of the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. This report on Atulya was broadcasted on All India Radio and they said that it can sanitize any location up to 5 meters at a time completely. The device has the capability to disintegrate the coronavirus from surfaces like that of the bed, furniture, office tables, and everything else in a household.
Atulya is already certified by the Defence Research and Development Organisation or DRDO, a premier research organization in India. The microwave device weighs around 3 kgs which makes it easier to carry and sanitize any location. However, the total time that is taken by the device to sanitize a location also depends on the size and nature of the area to be sanitized. This device shall be a game-changer for many locations and can be put to good use in these times.
